Ace of Herts compost grows even greener!

In line with North Herts Council policy and the growing need to reduce materials sent to landfill, we are expecting an increase of green waste sent to us from the North Hertfordshire area. The shedule of introduction is listed below.

February 2005

2,500 homes added to composting scheme in North Hertfordshire

 peatland heathers

  • During February 2005 a further 2500 properties were added to the recycling scheme using the brown bin to send green waste to our site.
    The new rounds are located in:
    Ickleford
    St. Ippollitts
    Moorhead Hill
    Common View
     

May 2005

33,122 homes added to composting scheme In North Hertfordshire!

  • New rounds starting from the 9th of May are planned for the following locations:
    Pixmore-Letchworth
    Twigden Estate-Royston
    Ashwell
    Jackmans Estate-Letchworth
    Green Drift-Royston
    Newmarket Road-Royston
    Pirton & Lilley
    Kimpton
    St. Michaels Road-Hitchin
    Fishponds Road-Hitchin
    St. Johns Road-Hitchin
    Codicote & Whitwell
     

A further 20,000 homes are planned to be added this year, it is just a case of waiting for funding to be put in place.
